A Belly Rub for Your Soul

Once upon a time I followed a pair of Converse shoes across a room and it led me to you, my one true Mommy. Fifteen years later I followed your hands when I could no longer feel my own, and I traveled both through you and with you to my next chapter. But boy will I miss that look on your face when you came through the door, every day, seeing me jump for joy. First it was in that small place with no rooms …but an amazing view. And then in that other place we got one more room, but more importantly you got Daddy (took you long enough). And then it was to that place with all those stairs….and it had that weird baby looking creature for a bit. I’m not sure what happened to that thing, but I loved the little walking creature that took her place…you called her “Aly”. And then finally my last place with all that wonderful grass. 

You didn’t speak my language, and I didn’t speak yours, but I knew a few of your words “treat”, “high five”, and my name of course. I also knew that when you danced, I wanted to dance, when you wanted to watch TV on the couch, I wanted to watch TV on the couch…and when you were sad, it was time for me to lick those tears. And on that last night in the tent, I knew I had to give you one last kiss. 

Something tells me our paths will cross again, the same way I could always tell when you were about to come home. If I see those Converse shoes again, I’ll come running.

U gave me delicious food  treats to enjoy
I enjoyed playing high fives with me
When ever u entered home u gave me treats to enjoy
U all loved me so much Sameer dad & Alyssa all treated my like a royal
U r the best mom on this earth
